François F F Salama was called to the NSW Bar in 2006.


He maintains a diverse equity and commercial litigation practice, regularly appearing in superior courts at first instance and on appeal. He accepts briefs and mediator appointments across all Australian jurisdictions.


Since 2019, François has been consistently recognised by his peers as a ‘leading lawyer’ in the Doyles Guide for Estate Litigation and was a Finalist three years consecutively since 2023 at the Australian Law Awards in the category of “Barrister of the Year”.
In 2025, Doyles Guide named François as a leader across all Australian jurisdictions for Estate Litigation and Legal 500 Asia Pacific recognised François as a Leading Junior in Commercial Disputes at the Australian Bar.
François is a recipient of the inaugural El Nayrouz Community Award, issued by the Coptic Orthodox Church Diocese of Sydney & Affiliated Regions in conjunction with the Attorney-General of NSW, in recognition of his significant service to the community through the provision of pro bono legal services since 2008.


François is a member of the NSW Bar Succession and Protective Law Committee, a national Board Member for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Australia and NSW Chapter and also serves as Deputy Chair for the STEP Australia Mentoring Subcommittee and Committee Member for the STEP Emerging Practitioners Network.


He is the co-author/editor of “Australian Succession Law”, a Thomson Reuters Looseleaf service.


He has attained a Bachelor of Laws (UTS), Bachelor of Science in Computing Science (Information Technology) (UTS), Diploma in IT Professional Practice (UTS), Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (UTS), a Master of Laws (College of Law).


François is a Registered Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) and Nationally Accredited AMDRAS Mediator (Med) recognised on the NSW Bar ADR Approved Mediator List.
